House Tour

We are excited to share with you all of the updates and projects we are doing on our new house. Check back here for an update on our project list!


When we started looking at houses to buy, we made a wish list:

1. Open Floor Plan
2. Separate pantry and laundry room (That is a really popular thing here)
3. Medium-Large sized yard for the dogs
4. Big kitchen with lots of counter space and an island or room to put the one we made in
5. 4 bedrooms OR 3 beds/1 office
6. 2-3 bathrooms
7. Big living room that you don't have to walk through 
8. Extra living room space 
9. Separate shower in master bath
10. Gas heat and stove
11. Double pane windows

This list was made in February and was soon lost, but we were still keeping these things in mind. I found it when we were unpacking and thought it was cool how EVERY SINGLE ITEM is in our home! When I saw the house pop up on our listing app, I immediately texted our realtor and asked for a showing. I fell in love with it before I even stepped inside. That was probably a mistake with the housing market being so aggressive, but it seems to have worked out okay.

Our house was basically move-in ready. The previous owners had spent a lot of time putting in new flooring, painting walls and cabinets, and updating the guest bathroom. Below is a list of all of the projects we want to do around the house. Some will be done soon and others will take us a couple of years to get around to. I will link each item to a blog post as we get around to them!

Hohlt House To-Do List:

1. Remove popcorn ceilings
2. Paint all ceilings
3. Install window coverings on all 20 windows
4. Weed the yard and plant grass
5. Trim the trees
6. Repaint or replace deck
7. Decorate Guest Bathroom
8. Change out lights in Kitchen
9. Decorate Craft Room
10. Decorate Guest Bedroom
11. Decorate Master Bedroom
12. Replace back fence :(
13. Convert Dining room into Living Room
14. Replace counter tops in kitchen and bathroom
15. Renovate master bathroom
16. Install floating shelves in kitchen
17. Garage storage 
18. Install insulation in attic
19. Replace all electric outlets (Plugs fall out of them easily)
20. Paint living room
21. Paint front door
22. Landscaping in Front yard (GET RID OF SHRUBS)
23. Update lighting in whole house
24. Reseal window panes
